This bit about Portals in Corruption moving through the interdimensional void: I haven't played the game, mind you, but as I understand it those Portals take you to different places in the same dimension (or plain of existence). Actually, it's more like an instantaneous transit from one location to another, kinda like in Star Trek (I have sci-fi reference mania today), whereas in Echoes, the Portals are used to transit things across dimensions, thus involving the Interdimensional Void.
