Augmented Reality Card

Augmented Reality Cards (abbreviated as AR cards) are special cards used with the AR Games application for the 3DS. These cards allow the player to play games and take pictures in a real world environment. These games include archery, golf, fishing and more. Extended versions of the games and special functions can be purchased with Play Tokens, which are earned by using the 3DS's pedometer function. Samus Aran is featured in the game Star Pics. She most resembles her appearance in Metroid: Other M.

Star Pics[edit | edit source]

In Star Pics, the player is able to use the main AR Card, along with five other cards featuring characters from various games. One of these cards features Samus. By pushing A and B, the player can change the pose of the characters, and can move them with the circle pad. The character's size can be adjusted with the X button. L and R will take a picture. The card of the character must always be in sight of the cameras on the 3DS. The cards depict the mascot of the AR games, Mario, Link, Kirby, Samus Aran, and Pikmin. Pictures taken in Star Pics will be saved onto an SD card in both a JPG format and a 3D format readable only by the 3DS.
