A Cycle is a measurement of the flow of time used by various races in the Metroid series. Cycles are mentioned often by Space Pirates, especially in the data and logs. Samus's own scan system sometimes measures the decay of objects in centicycles and decacycles. Cycles are also mentioned in lore written by the Luminoth.
