The Annihilator Beam is the most powerful beam weapon in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, since it combines the properties of the Light Beam and the Dark Beam. It has a sonic resonance due to its high energy levels, and it allows Samus to interface with sonic locking systems. The beam is fueled by a mix of Light and Dark Beam Ammo, and will cease proper function if one or both sources of ammunition are depleted. The beam is obtained upon the defeat of the Quadraxis in the temple located in the Ing Hive.
Properties
The Annihilator Beam is capable of several special actions which make it an invaluable tool. It has the ability to supercharge Light Crystals and Light Beacons on Dark Aether, which causes them to become irresistible to the Ing. However, being a mix of light and dark, it will kill the creatures if they enter the field. This makes it a useful tool when Samus is faced with multiple enemies. In addition, the beam can track opponents to an extent.
Sonic Boom

The Charge Combo for the Annihilator Beam is the Sonic Boom, which uses the frequency of the beam to shatter the sound barrier and damage enemies.
