Commandos are armed with an energy scythe, pulse cannons, and an EMP grenade launcher. Pirate Commandos can also temporarily generate a shield that can deflect nearly all attacks.<ref name="Logbook"/>

Samus encounters Pirate Commandos twice in ''Metroid Prime 2'', first in [[Torvus Bog]] where she was attacked by a pair of Commandos. Later in [[Sanctuary Fortress|Sanctuary]], Samus is attacked by a large group of Commandos. [[Dark Pirate Commando|Dark Pirate Commandos]], which are Commandos possessed by [[Hunter Ing]],<ref>{{cite|Only Hunter Ing are allowed to possess the Commandos, and the competition for that right is fierce among them.
