The Galactic Federation is an intergalactic army whose goal is to stop the Space Pirates and Mother Brain. As told throught Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission, and the Metroid manga, Samus Aran also did her time working in the Marines section.

In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, a new type of Galactic Federation suit was introduced, called the Phazon Enhancement Device, or PED for short.
